Art. 1 Organization

The association "Becca di Nona 3142 a.s.d.", in collaboration with the Municipality of Charvensod, organizes the zero edition of the vertical in pairs called "Emilius 3559" which will take place on Saturday 15 July 2023.

Art. 2 Acceptance of the Regulation

The race will take place in accordance with these regulations, any changes and notices that will be published on the www.beccadinona.it website.
Participation in the aforementioned event implies, by the registered competitors, the unreserved acceptance of this regulation, in all its parts.
Competitors are also required to comply with the road code, particularly in sections where the track crosses the ordinary roadway which will not be closed to vehicle traffic.
By registering, each competitor undertakes to comply with these Regulations and declines the organizers from any civil or criminal liability for any accident or accident, for damage to persons or things derived from him or caused by himself, which may occur before, during and after the event.

Art. 3 Try

The test consists of a running in a natural high mountain environment that runs through roads, paths and mule tracks, the territory of the Municipality of Charvensod.

The test has a development of about 17 km and a positive difference in height of about 3000 meters. The test is a team composed of two athletes who will have to pass together at the control points and at the finish line.

Art. 4 Participation

The race is open to teams of 2 athletes, also of different nationalities, who have reached the age of 18 on the date of the race. At least one of the team members must have finished with a time of less than 2h 45' one of the following editions of Aosta-Becca di Nona: 2018, 2021, 2022.

Each individual athlete must possess:

● sports medical certificate for competitive activity (B1) valid on the date of the race. Self-certification or declaration of healthy and robust physical constitution issued by your doctor is not allowed. For athletes of foreign nationality a medical certificate of competitive activity is not required but it is necessary to send the form (which will be downloadable from the site) completed and signed by your family doctor.

The race is open to a maximum number of 50 teams for a total of 100 competitors. Teams interested in participating will have to fill in the application form which will be made available online on the www.beccadinona.it website from 15 May until 31 May.

Art. 5 Application and selection procedure

The team's candidacy must be sent using the appropriate form available on the event website. At the time of registration, in addition to the name of the team and the personal data of the individual athletes, each athlete must indicate their curriculum of skyrunning, mountain races and ski mountaineering competitions with passages over 3000 meters. The curriculum of each athlete is decisive for the evaluation of admission or exclusion of the team. It should be noted that applications in which athletes have not completed this part will not be taken into consideration.

The organization will provide for the preliminary verification of the application requirements of the individual teams and the evaluation of the resumes to determine the teams that will be able to access the next phase of the selection.

The 50 participating teams will finally be selected in compliance with the following constraints:

● 10 places are reserved for teams invited directly by the organization;

● At least 10 places are reserved for women's teams. If fewer than 10 female applications are present, the posts not filled will be allocated to mixed teams and possibly to men's teams.

● At least 10 places are reserved for mixed teams. If fewer than 10 mixed teams are nominated, the unfilled places will be allocated to men's teams.

Art. 6 How to sign up

The selected teams will receive by e-mail, on Wednesday 7 June 2023, confirmation of their selection. In the same email will be indicated the details of the bank transfer for the payment of the registration fee for the team that will be made by Wednesday 14 June 2023. At the same time, the selected athletes must provide by e-mail the sports medical certificate for competitive activity.

In the event that the medical certificate is about to expire, the competitor can also provide his medical certificate at a later time. In the event that, at the time of bib collection, no valid sports medical certificate has been provided, the team to which the athlete belongs will not be able to take part in the race, without the right to any refund of the registration fee.

Art. 7 Registration fees

The registration fee for the Emilius 3559 is 100 € per team.

The payment of the registration includes all the services described in this regulation, the final lunch, the finisher gadget, assistance and final refueling.

Art. 8 Athlete substitution

There is the possibility to change a member of your team in compliance with the registration requirements (at least one member of the team must have completed one of the last three editions of Aosta-Becca di Nona with a time of less than 2h 45 '). The replacement of the athlete must take place strictly by 23:59 on 9 July 2023. The replacement must be requested by email at the following address: info@beccadinona.it.

The holder of the registration must send the data of the substitute, including a copy of the sports medical certificate. The organization will verify the maintenance of the registration requirements for the race, in case of negative outcome the team will not be able to take part in the race.

Art. 9 Finisher gadgets

A gadget will be delivered to all finishers. The finisher gadget will not be delivered to those who simply collect the bib or to those who start without reaching the finish line.

Art. 10 Mandatory equipment

Art. 10.01 Material to be brought for the duration of the race

With the registration each runner signs the commitment to bring with him for the duration of the race the mandatory material listed below, subject to disqualification.
Mandatory material can be checked at the start, arrival and in spot positions along the route.

Mandatory material:

● trailrunning shoes with good grip and suitable for the type of terrain

● Backpack

● water reserve (minimum 0.5 liters of liquids but recommended 1 liter)

● Food reserve

● Spare T-shirt

● Waterproof windproof jacket

● Fuseaux long

● Thermal mesh

● Windproof overpants

● thermal sheet (survival blanket)

● cap or cable tie

● gloves

● mobile phone on which to save the emergency number of the organization (the mobile phone must have a full battery)

● Warm clothing essential in case of expected cold weather

By virtue of the type of terrain and the slopes involved, the use of sticks is strongly recommended.

Based on the weather forecast, the organization may communicate any additions to the mandatory material a few days before the race (eg: running crampons, heavier clothing, etc.).

Art. 10.02 Use of helmet

The use of the UIAA (Union Internationale des Associations d'Alpinisme) approved helmet is mandatory, under penalty of disqualification, from the control point located near Lake Gelato to the finish line, no athlete in the race can proceed on this stretch of route without wearing a helmet correctly worn and fastened.

Athletes who arrive at the finish line wearing non-approved helmets (e.g. bike helmets) will be disqualified from the race.

Each athlete can entrust his helmet to a reference person who will deliver it to the interested party along the route, before the stretch in which it is mandatory to wear it.

The use of the helmet, in the same stretch where it is mandatory to wear it in the race, is strongly recommended even during the return phase.

Art. 11 Bibs

The bib, equipped with a chip, is given individually to each competitor who has regularized his registration, after signing the release form and on presentation of an identity document with photo. The bib can be delivered to a third party only if equipped with a specific written proxy and including a photocopy of the identity document of the delegator.

The bib must be worn on the chest or belly and be visible always and in its entirety throughout the race. It must therefore be placed over all clothing and under no circumstances fixed elsewhere.

Before the start, each runner must be registered, passing through the appropriate closed starting area. The competitor must verify the registration at the checkpoints and on arrival. The punching is therefore essential to ascertain the actual presence of the competitor. In case of failure to register the passage, the costs for the search for the runner will be charged to the runner himself.

Art. 12 Control posts

There are 5 checkpoints where team members are obliged to pass together. The checkpoints will be marked with a special bailiwick and will be located at:

● Ponteille (1690 m)

● Comboé (2110 m)

● Arbolle (2507 m)

● Lago Gelato (2955 m) - point of the track from which it will be mandatory to wear a helmet

● Colle dei Tre Cappuccini (3242 m)

"Flying" checkpoints will also be positioned where personnel appointed by the organization can verify the mandatory material of the athletes. Their location will not be communicated by the organization.

The organization reserves, in its unquestionable judgment, to inhibit the continuation of the competition to individual athletes if it detects dangerous conditions for their health and/or in the absence of safety conditions.

Art. 13 Water points

The race will take place in complete water and food self-sufficiency. On the www.beccadinona.it website will be published the map of the route that identifies the water points (fountains with drinking water that are located along the path or points specially prepared by the organization where it will be possible to recharge your water reserves). It is forbidden to be accompanied on the route by another person who is not regularly registered.

Art. 14 Maximum authorised time and time barriers

The maximum time of the test, to cover the entire route, is set at 4h 30 '. A time gate will also be placed, after 2h 30 'from the start, in Arbolle (after about 2000 meters in altitude). Competitors who will pass through Arbolle beyond the time limit of 2h 30 'will be stopped. The competitor who wishes to continue without a bib, out of the race, will do so assuming all responsibility for the consequences that could derive from him.

In the event of bad weather and/or safety reasons, the organization reserves the right to suspend the current test, delay departure, vary the route or change the time barriers.

Art. 15 Animal prohibitions

To ensure the best safety conditions for all participants, it is forbidden to compete by pets whether they are on a leash or not. Competitors with pets in tow will automatically be disqualified and considered outside the race, therefore held responsible for any damage done to themselves, to other competitors, to third parties in general.

Art. 16 Abandonment and return

In case of abandonment of the race along the route, the team is obliged, as soon as it has the opportunity, to go to the nearest checkpoint to communicate its abandonment by registering. In case of failure to communicate the withdrawal and the consequent start of the runner's searches, any expenses arising will be charged to the runner himself.

Art. 17 Penalties and disqualifications

Controllers on the route are allowed to check for the presence of the mandatory material and in general, compliance with the entire regulation. Please note that in the absence of mandatory material, under the regulation, the runner will be disqualified or will be penalized.

The irregularities found, even through video images, received by the organization after the race, may cause disqualifications. The jury of the race may disqualify a competitor, in case of serious violation of the regulation, in particular for:

● bib worn in a non-compliant manner

● bib exchange

● failure to pass a checkpoint

● lack of mandatory material

● use of a means of transport

● departure from a checkpoint after the time barrier

● doping or refusal to submit to a doping control

● failure to assist another competitor in case of difficulty

● Use of personal assistance outside of permitted points

● abandonment of own material along the way

● failure to comply with the prohibition to be accompanied on the route

● abandonment of waste on the route

● pollution or degradation of the venue by a competitor or a member of his staff

● insults, rudeness or threats against members of the organization or volunteers

● refusal to be examined by a doctor of the organization at any time during the race

Art. 18 Complaints

Only written claims are accepted in the maximum time of 30 minutes after the provisional results are posted, with the delivery of a deposit of 100.00 euros that cannot be returned if the appeal is not accepted.

Art. 19 Jury

The jury is made up of competent persons appointed by the chairman of the organizing committee.

The jury will communicate, with a timely consistency with the timing of the race, decisions regarding disqualifications or penalties. Decisions are unquestive.

Art. 20 Changes to route or time barriers - Cancellation of the journey

The organization reserves the right to change the route without notice and at any time; the location of control and rescue posts; the number, location or time of time gates. In case of adverse weather conditions and such as to endanger the safety of competitors, the start can be postponed or canceled, the route can be modified and reduced, or the race can be stopped at any point of the track. The suspension or cancellation of the race will not entitle competitors to any refund of the registration fee.

Art. 21 Route map

The topographic map of the route, in its most updated edition, will be available on the official website of the www.beccadinona.it race, from which it can be downloaded. No copy of the route card will be delivered with bibs to the competitors.

Art. 22 Insurance

The organization signs liability insurance for the entire trial period. Participation takes place under the full responsibility of the competitors, who waive any appeal against the organizers in the event of damage and additional consequences that arise as a result of the race. At the time of registration the runner must sign a disclaimer.

Art. 23 Rankings and awards

The following will be rewarded:

● Top 3 ranked teamsand absoluteand male and female

● The first 3 ranked teams of the mixed category

No money prizes will not be distributed

Art. 24 Image rights

Each competitor expressly renounces the use of the image rights related to the test as well as waives any appeal against the organization and its enabled partners, for the use of its image.
