There was a time when Aosta and Ivrea were a single province, the province of Aosta from 1927 to 1945, after which Aosta became the capital of the Autonomous Region with Special Statute, the Valle d'Aosta. 90 years later Aosta and Ivrea will have one thing in common again: a great mountain race
