Nadir Maguet for the team The Sportiva wins, as predicted, the Aosta - Becca di Nona (13km, 2500m+) with 1h54'01''. His record of 1h50' recorded in 2018 does not fall, but the satisfaction is great especially in a week characterized by the exploit on piz Bernina.
"Of this Becca I carry the heart of the Aosta Valley, – says Nadir at the end of the race – because seeing so many people on the route cheering doesn't happen often. Today I saw so many people celebrating. This is an event that can give a lot to the Aosta Valley Region because it is a nice business card».
In the women's category the first position goes to Chiara Giovando (Monterosa Athletic Team) with 2h19'01'', beating the record held by the Swiss Maya Chollet of 2h22'30" of 2018.
"Today this tempone came out – says Chiara Giovando – at one point I thought I had the clock out of place. The more I climbed, the more I was fine. I left checked I remembered having to cross from the underpass and I did not want to remain bottled. For my characteristics the races are made in progression, you don't have to start too strong. Then when the path came, my body gued me."
Behind the "Mago", Massimo Farcoz (U.S. Malonno – Cimalp) with 1h58'35'' and Dennis Brunod (Team Crazy/Nortec) with 2h03'18''. For the women behind the Piedmontese Giovando (already champion in 2016) Benedetta Broggi (Raschiani Triathlon Pavese) placed with 2h34'23'' and Francesca Travi with 2h38'27''.
For Aosta Comboé victories of Sébastien Guichardaz in the men's field and Gloriana Pellissier in the women's field.
The vertical running "only up" Aosta – Becca di Nona, match at 8.30 am on Sunday July 17, 2022 from the center of Aosta (Piazza Chanoux), it saw about 600 athletes at the starting blocks. The route that includes an uphill race in a mountain environment is a race that in addition to the sporting commitment brings in addition the values of rediscovery of the territory and tourist promotion. The route, in fact, crosses the entire territory of the Municipality of Charvensod winding through varied landscapes, from the plain of Pont-Suaz to the pastures of the capital and the high hamlets, to reach the ponteille waterfalls, the Comboé valley and the top of the Becca, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking and priceless view of the central plain of the Valle d'Aosta.
"Thanks go to all our sponsors, to the over 400 volunteers and to all the athletes who have contributed over the years, with their participation, to make Aosta Becca di Nona an international event. – Affirms Laurent Chuc creator and organizer of Aosta Becca di Nona – The biennial "Becca" returns in 2024, but 2023 will not pass in silence, we are in fact working on an event that will allow athletes to climb even more on the Becca... (editor's note: that the Emilius with its 3500 meters is the next goal of the organizers?)».
Today, therefore, the celebrations for the twentieth anniversary of the event end with a female record in the flagship race, Aosta Becca di Nona. In recent days great success for the Becca PINK, non-competitive race for women only of only 5 kilometers with over 600 entries. Six thousand euros collected that will go to charity to support the activities of the Association V.I.O.L.A. co-organizer of the event. A first edition to remember also for the Becca KIDS, non-competitive mini-race dedicated to children with 250 members (the youngest will turn 2 in August while the oldest will turn 14 years old). Both races, new for this edition, given the great participation, will be repeated in 2024.
